Emily Dunleavy, MA, LMFT, LPC

Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.

She enjoys working with adults and couples, with her main areas of focus including relationship difficulties, trauma recovery & EMDR, sexual concerns, anxiety, people-pleasing, self-criticism, spiritual abuse or church hurt, premarital counseling, and recovery from purity culture.

Emily is a Christian and, if you want to bring your faith into counseling, she's happy to provide therapy that integrates faith without bypassing your emotional experience.

You may be a good fit for Emily if:

●      You often think, "Why am I feeling this way??"

●      Stuff from your past still has a grip on you, even though you "know better" intellectually.

●      Sex hasn't always felt safe or good to you, especially if purity culture messed with your head.

●      You love your partner but it feels like you just. can't. get. on the same page.

●      You want God and your pain to be allowed in the same room, without feeling preached at or dismissed either way.

How Emily Works:
Using a mix of somatic, emotionally-focused (EFT), attachment-based, EMDR, and person-centered approaches, Emily loves helping others understand their stories, reconnect with themselves, and create new ways of relating to self and others. She knows therapy can be deep, but she doesn't think it has to feel heavy all the time. Emily loves to bring warmth, humor, and a down-to-earth approach to her sessions.

At the heart of Emily's work is the belief that we are made for connection and wholeness. She wants a session with her to be a place where you can feel really safe and really heard — where it feels like she really gets you!

Scheduling and Fees:

Emily has availability on weekdays from 8am-3pm and offers sessions both in-person and online.

She accepts Aetna and United insurances, and her self-pay rates are $140/individual session, $175/couples session, or $125/premarital session. But just a note: She is not able to accept insurance for couples counseling.
